It has been revealed that actor So Kaku and his twin brother, former amateur baseball player Yoshihisa Akira, will appear together in the 9th episode (extended by 30 minutes) of the drama "If This World Were a Stage, Where Would the Dressing Room Be?" (Fuji TV, Wednesdays at 10pm), which will air on November 26th. This will be their first time appearing together, and they will be wearing very similar "twin outfits."
A familiar scene from the series is the visit of Jessie (Sylvia Grab), the owner of WS Theatre, and her secretary, Ranshiro (So Kaku). In episode 9, it is revealed that Ranshiro has an identical twin brother, Rantaro (Yoshihisa Akira), who is brought to the theater by Jessie. This unusual visit is a sign that something sinister is about to happen...
Akira commented, "It was my first time acting with my younger brother, so it was a lot of fun. When I was offered the role of this twin, I asked my brother, 'What kind of role is it?' and he told me it was a silent and scary role, so I was surprised because if there was another one in the cast, it would make small children cry. But in reality, the character is a little comical and somehow lovable, and I hope that the synchronized acting that only twins can have and the close relationship between the two of us will come across!"
Looking back on the filming, Hajime said, "I never dreamed I'd be able to act with my twin brother, who isn't an actor, so I was very surprised. On set, everyone kept saying, 'You two look alike,' and my brother was able to act without any nervousness, so it was a really warm and cozy set. But my brother is quite the rain-happy guy, so we were shooting outside and just when it was his turn, it suddenly started raining...I felt sorry for him." He added, "It turned out to be an interesting scene that shows off the unique combination of twins, so I hope you'll pay attention to that as well."
The drama stars Masaki Suda and is written by Koki Mitani. It is a completely original story based on Mitani's memories of his youth, and is a youth ensemble drama set in Shibuya in 1984.
