The 40th episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Bakebake " (General TV, Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM and other times), starring Akari Takaishi , was broadcast on November 21st, and viewers were drawn to a disturbing remark made by Toki (Takaishi) after he received a "voodoo doll" from Heaven ( Tommy Bastow).
In episode 40, Nishikori (Ryo Yoshizawa Ryo) is secretly practicing to master skipping. However, his students Kotani (Shimokawa Kyohei), Masaki (Yukito Hidaka), his younger brother Takeru (Sugita Rairin), and Heaven find out. By chance, the conversation turns to the possibility that skipping originated in America, where Heaven was born, but Heaven is not born in America.
To learn more about Heaven, a quiz competition about Heaven is held as a "little fun." Nishikori brings his students to Heaven's house, and Toki also decides to participate.
Heaven asked questions, and those who answered correctly received various prizes. In the end, Nishikori, who didn't get a single question right, said, "I can't let it end like this," and asked Heaven to ask a question about a photo that she treasures, asking who the woman in the photo (Eliza, played by Charlotte Kate Fox) is.
Toki then interjected, "I think it's best not to ask too much about that photo," and when Nishikori asked, "Why?", he replied, "It's... I'm sure... because she's someone important to you." Heaven didn't understand Toki's Japanese, but sensed his concern and said, "Congratulations, Shijimi-san," and handed him the winning prize, a voodoo doll.
After being told that you can make a wish come true or curse by sticking a needle into this doll, Toki's eyes lit up and he exclaimed with delight, "It's like the straw dolls used for midnight visits to shrines...!" He excitedly muttered, "Wow, I want to curse someone soon..."
In response to Toki's line, "I want to curse you soon," comments were posted on social media such as, "That's not the kind of line to appear in a Asadora lol," "The Asadora heroine saying it with such glee is bound to make you go 'Oh my gosh,'" "She talks so fast lol, in the tone of an otaku lol," "It makes you tear up and then makes you laugh at the end... I really love it," and "I also like how Toki gets excited and says, 'I want to curse you soon'."
