It has been announced that the romantic comedy manga "Drawing Naru Ueha," currently serialized in the manga magazine "Young Animal" (Hakusensha) and the website "Young Animal Web," will be adapted into a TV anime. The manga is based on a story by Takahata Yumi and illustrated by Kama Yuji, and tells the story of aspiring manga artist Ayumu Murase playing Uehara Yuki and Sayumi Suzushiro playing Miyamoto Niina.
The anime will be directed by Ishikawa Shunsuke, with series composition and scriptwriting by Akao Deko and character design by Nakagawa Hiromi. It will be produced by Studio ROLL2. A teaser visual and teaser PV featuring the "gal heroine" Miyamoto Niina have been released.
Takahata, the original author, commented, "It has been decided that 'Drawing Naruuewa' will be made into an anime! It's all thanks to the readers who have supported us. Thank you so much!! Kama, who is in charge of illustrations for the original work, said, "The announcement of the anime adaptation...! I'm overwhelmed with emotion! The two who voiced Murase and Suzuyo were so sparkling and adorable... I was in constant agony during the dubbing...! Murase, who plays Uehara Yuki, said, "When I read the original work during the audition, I was struck right in the heart! Nina is so charming and cute! I can't help but envy this youth!!! (laughs). Nina is obviously cute, but as someone who normally works on projects as a voice actor, I was really touched by their challenging attitude and passion. The dubbing has started off with a lot of fun, so I hope everyone will look forward to it being released!"
Suzuyo, who plays Miyamoto Niina, commented, "I'm so happy (TT). When I read the original work, I was so moved by the 'people' and 'story' that Kama-sensei and Takahata-sensei portrayed... Uehara-kun and Nina, who are striving to become manga artists, and my own daily experiences as someone who continues to audition, even though we are in different industries, overlapped so much that it really took over my emotions in a good way. I went into the audition with a strong belief that I would definitely play the role, so I am really happy to be able to play it...!! I will do my best to play the role of Nina, who has a gal-minded mind but is also innocent, so that she can naturally be there. Thank you very much!!"
Director Ishikawa said, "I've found it! When I first read it, I thought that, and so many images that I want to draw came to mind. The romantic comedy and dreams that are born from this, the youthful brilliance and passion that really drives me as a creator, and the expressions and portrayals of the characters that draw you in as you watch make it a very appealing work. I am inspired every day by Niina's attitude and character, and Yuki's immaturity and changes, and I am working hard to share these feelings with as many people as possible, so I hope you will all check it out!"
Akao, who is in charge of series composition and scriptwriting, commented, "Congratulations! It's been made into an anime! I thought seriously about how to make those heart-warming, heart-warming scenes from the original even more appealing when I was writing the script, and I went through a lot of trial and error. There were some parts of the story that had me in tears while I was writing...I hope you enjoy the rollercoaster story of Uehara and Nina!"
