It has been revealed that Gege Akutami Yoshiko will be appearing as a voice actor in the "Jujutsu Kaisen Kaisen Movie: Shibuya Incident Special Edition x Culling Game Jujutsu Kaisen Screening" of the anime "Jujutsu Kaisen," based on the popular manga by Akutami Gege that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha). In addition to the special edited version of the second season of the TV anime, " Shibuya Incident," the film will also include an advance screening of episodes 1 and 2 of the third season, "Culling Game Part 1," with Sakakibara playing Tengen, who appears in "Culling Game Part 1," and will also be in charge of the narration. Tengen's visual has also been released.
Tengen possesses the formula for immortality and is located in the main hall of the Death Star Palace, the lowest level of the Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu Technical College, where he is the key figure in the nation's barrier. Sakakibara commented, "As a sorcerer who possesses excellent barrier techniques and has survived for over 500 years thanks to his own immortality formula, and who has kept his distance from the organization that worships him as a god, I thought he might also be a cunning character. I'm also thinking about what it means to have nothing to do with death for over 500 years, and what kind of feelings he has as he lives. To play Tengen, I think I'll have to continue asking those questions, which probably have no answers."
"Jujutsu Kaisen" is a manga that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from March 2018 to September 2024. The story follows high school student Yuji Itadori, who is thrown into a world of battles over curses after a powerful "cursed object" is unsealed. The comic series has sold over 100 million copies in total.
The first season of the TV anime aired from October 2020 to March 2021, and the second season, "Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu/ Shibuya Incident," aired from July to December 2023. The third season, "Culling Game Part 1," will be broadcast nationwide simultaneously on the MBS/TBS anime block "Super Animeism TURBO" every Thursday at 12:26 a.m. starting January 8, 2026.
