The TV anime "SANDA," based on the manga by Paru Itagaki, known for "BEASTARS," is taking over Mita Station on the Toei Mita Line and Asakusa Line, and a project began on November 14th. The collaboration is based on the main character, Mita Kazue, and advertisements are being displayed on the platform doors at Mita Station and at major stations along the Toei Mita Line. At Tamachi Tower Mall near Mita Station, original stickers will be distributed, and character stand panels and extra-large boards will be on display.
In stations along the Toei Mita Line, advertisements are being displayed under the theme "What does it mean to become an adult? SANDA," in reference to Mita, a place where adults and children come and go. From an adult's perspective, slogans such as "What does it mean to become an adult?" and "Maybe becoming an adult isn't so bad" are being displayed at each station.
It was also announced that Mariya Ise will be joining the cast of the anime. Ise will play the new character, Namatame Niki, who will appear in episode 7, "Carnivorous Plants in the Shade," which will air on November 14th.
Namatame is the leader of Class 10, a semi-basement school made up of students who have killed adults, and is a mysterious character who always has a smile on his face. Ise commented, "I was truly happy to be able to take part in SANDA, written by my favorite author, Itagaki Paru, as the role of Namatame Fuumi. I tried to portray the emotions behind Namatame's smile, what he is searching for deep in his heart, and what he does not want to forget. Please look forward to his appearance!"
"SANDA" is a manga serialized in "Weekly Shonen Champion" (Akita Shoten) from July 2021 to July 2024. It is a unique "Santa Claus" hero action story set in a near-future Japan where children are overly protected in an era of extremely low birth rates. The anime is directed by Shimoyama Tomohisa, known for "Yurei Deco" and "SUPER SHIRO," and produced by Science SARU. Ayumu Murase plays the role of Mita Kazushige, and Tochi Hiroki plays Santa Claus. It airs every Friday at 1:53 a.m. on the MBS/TBS anime block "Animeism."
