◇The following contains spoilers
At an oden party held at the home of Shinichi Nagashima (Masao Kusakari) and Satoko (Sawako Agawa), Jun confessed that he had known since childhood that Wataru (Kitamura) and Ann had promised to divorce.
Looking at Jun, Ann burst into tears and said, "I'm sorry. That's why you're so kind, always thinking about those around you, and always protecting me..." Jun had always acted cheerfully so as not to worry Ann, and without considering her feelings, she simply thought, "What a good girl," and apologized for calling her an "angel."
Then, with her eyes red, Ann apologized, saying, "I'm the worst. I'm the worst. I made you like that...I'm sorry."
On social media, people were saying things like, "Jun grew up to be a really kind child, but that wasn't because they were considerate of her, but because Wataru and An loved her so much," "Sure there may have been some shortcomings, but when I look at Jun, I don't think she was a terrible mother at all. She grew up to be a kind, cheerful, good child, and she made the most of it, so I think that's enough," "Don't apologize, that's not true, Jun doesn't think she's the worst," "Parents who notice and apologize are good parents," and "Nakama's acting in 'I Was the Terrible Mother' was great. It's like she's truly reveling in her own stupidity and patheticness."
