Details have been revealed about a character who appeared in the trailer for "Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash- The Witch of Circe," the second part of the popular Gundam anime film series "Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash Shukou), and who has been the subject of much discussion, including as a "half-naked old man." The "half-naked old man" is Brinks Wedge, captain of the Mufty's supply ship Valiant, who walks around half-naked inside the ship in the scorching heat, but the crew pays no attention to him. He deliberately avoids delving into Hathaway's psychological nuances. Hiroshi Shirakuma will be the voice actor.

"Hathaway's Flash" is based on a novel published in 1989-90 by director Yoshiyuki Tomino, known as the creator of the "Gundam" series. Set in the year 0105 of the Universal Century, the story depicts Hathaway, the son of Bright Noa, who experienced a bitter separation during the Second Neo Zeon War, piloting a new mobile suit, the XI Gundam , in a rebellion against the Earth Federation government.
It has been announced that the anime will be made into three parts, with the first part, released in June 2021, being a hit, grossing approximately 2.23 billion yen at the box office.
