The third installment of "City Pop Studio," featuring 10 artists including EPO, Kiyotaka Sugiyama, and Tetsuji Hayashi, will air on BS Asahi from 9:00 PM on Getsuku. Artists representing "city pop," the sophisticated, urban style that was popular from the 1970s to the 1980s, will be gathered together. Accompanied by live performances by a special band, the show will showcase "music you want to hear now" and "hidden gems."
Hayashi, who wrote Matsubara Miki's song "Mayonaka no Door ~ Stay With Me," which sparked the "city pop" boom, and Sugiyama, who is active as a member of "Sugiyama Kiyotaka & Omega Tribe" and as a solo artist, will make their first appearance on the show. The two will perform a collaboration on "Kanashimi ga Ippai." Hayashi will also discuss the reasons for "Mayonaka no Door"'s global success in the talk corner.
Other guests appearing on the show include Akimoto Naomi, Kokufu Yurie, Sugi Mari, Suzuki Yasuhiro, Matsuo Kazuhiko, Minami Yoshitaka, and Yamane Yasuhiro.
