Actor Baku Owada will appear on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), which will be broadcast at 1:00 p.m. on November 10th.
It has been five years since his wife, actress Kumiko Okae, passed away. A year later, his own mother passed away at the age of 98. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was difficult for him to visit her, but when he did visit her just before she passed away, she mustered her last bit of strength and left him with a certain message.
For the past four years, Owada has been living with her daughter Miho and her 10-year-old grandson in a two-family home. This summer, her grandson went to Thailand to study abroad and transferred to a local school, so it is unclear when he will return to Japan. During her lifetime, Okae had said of her grandson, "He's very independent, just like me."
