BS12 TwellV's program "Eiichiro Funakoshi's Showa Restoration Factory" will air a segment titled "Three Showa Gamera Films: Father Eiji Funakoshi Brings His Father Back to Life with 4K Restoration!" from 9:00 PM on November 6th. The program closely follows the 4K digital restoration of three Showa Gamera films: "Gamera the Giant Monster," "Gamera vs. Barugon," and "Gamera vs. Gyaos."
Starting from the precious location where the Gamera master film is kept, the program follows the professional restoration work by industry leader IMAGICA Entertainment Media Services, as well as the months-long 4K digital restoration process supervised by director Shinji Higuchi, known for his work on "Shin Godzilla" and his latest film, "The Great Bullet Train Explosion."
The show's MC, Eiichiro Funakoshi, attended a preview screening of the 4K digitally restored version of "Giant Monster Gamera," in which his father, actor Eiji Funakoshi, appears. Funakoshi was also excited to see the high-definition footage of his father, Eiji, revived.
The program looks back on "items that evoke memories of the Showa era," "places that evoke memories of the Showa era," and "people that evoke memories of the Showa era," and brings back memories of the good old Showa era.
