The drama series "Good Things and Bad Things" (NTV, Saturdays at 9pm) stars actors Mamiya Shotaro and Araki Yuko in the lead roles. The synopsis and stills from episode 4, which will air on November 1st, have been released.
A series of murders strikes classmates one after the other. As Takagi (Mamiya) and Sonoko (Araki) investigate the truth, they predict that after Takeda (Mizukawa Katamari), Sakurai (Kudo Asuka), and Emi (Matsui Rena), Takagi's best friend Koyama Takahiro (Shintaro Morimoto) is attacked. The crimes are carried out in the order of a parody song that Takagi and his friends wrote 22 years ago, and there is no doubt that the fifth target is "Chonmage" (Mori Yusaku), also known as Hatachi Taisuke.
22 years ago, Hatatachi drew a picture of a "samurai with a topknot holding a sword" as a dream for the future. If he were to be attacked like the other four because he resembled the picture, would he be stabbed to death...? Wanting to let Hatatachi know as soon as possible, Takagi and the others contact Kobayashi Saki (Fujima Sawako), who was the class representative. Kobayashi, whose mothers have been good friends since childhood, knows Hatatachi's address. According to Kobayashi, Hatatachi lost his father at a young age, and then his mother last year, and is now all alone. When Kobayashi asks, "Why Hatatachi all of a sudden?" Takagi is evasive.
Then, on the weekend, Takagi heads to Hatadachi's apartment with Sonoko and Koyama. Hatadachi, with his messy hair tied up with a rubber band and scruffy beard, lives a reclusive life in a messy room. Even though they meet again after a long time, Hatadachi shows no sign of being surprised by Takagi and the others' visit, saying, "Is it my turn...?" He had heard about the incident on the news and knew he would be the next target. "But this... can't be helped. We... were bullying you," says Hatadachi, handing a kitchen knife to Sonoko and demanding that she kill him quickly, saying, "Don't be shy. I'm worthless."
Takagi and the others try to persuade Hatachi, who has no will to live, by saying, "We've come to protect you. Friends should protect each other..." but Hatachi, who has closed his heart, rejects them, saying, "We're not friends." Why has Hatachi closed his heart, and what is the secret of Hatachi that Takagi doesn't know?
The drama is a mystery that explores the suspicious death of a classmate from elementary school. The script is written by Gaku Kawasaki, who has worked on "Betrayal Meals in a Place Like This" (Chukyo TV). The directors are Shunsuke Kariyama, who has worked on "Brush Up Life" (Nippon TV), Kengo Takimoto, who worked on the film "Kaibutsu of Love," and Shinya Nagano.
