New visuals have been released for Yamada Asaemon Shien and Nurgai, who will appear in the second season of the TV anime "Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku," based on the manga by Yuji Kaku that was serialized on Shueisha's manga app "Shonen Jump+." "Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku" was serialized in "Shonen Jump+" from January 2018 to January 2021. Set in the late Edo period, the story follows the strongest ninja, Gamimaru, who is betrayed by his comrades and taken prisoner. In order to be reunited with his beloved wife, he fights against monsters in search of the elixir of immortality in order to be freed.
The anime will be directed by Kaori Makita and produced by MAPPA. Chiaki Kobayashi will play the main character, Gabimaru. The first season of the TV anime aired from April to July 2023. The second season will air on TV Tokyo and other channels from January 2026.
