Mariko Niwa, the wife of Hashizo Okawa, a famous Showa-era actor who passed away 41 years ago at the young age of 55, and his second son, actor Sadahito Niwa, will appear on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), which will be broadcast at 1:00 p.m. on October 31st.
In the studio, belongings of Hashizo, who had many hobbies, will be displayed, revealing the real him that his family knew, different from the silver screen star he was.
Mariko and Hashizo met about 70 years ago, when she was working as a maiko in Kyoto and visited the set of Hashizo's debut film. Later, she met Hashizo again at a party to celebrate the film's release, and a quiet romance began to blossom.
