It has been announced that Kubo Shiori, who will be graduating from the idol group Nogizaka46 on November 27th, will be releasing her first essay, "LOST LETTER" (Gentosha), on December 16th.
This book is a record of Kubo's life experiences after spending nine years as a member of a top idol group. It includes a long interview looking back from her childhood to the present, as well as photos taken at home and on a trip to Yakushima, Kagoshima Prefecture, before announcing her graduation. The book is A5 size and is expected to have 168 pages (16 of which are in color). The price is 2,200 yen.
Kubo commented, "For a long time, I wanted to write a book in which I would write about my life up to that point when I graduated from being an idol. I was aware that 'graduating' from Nogizaka46 would be a major turning point in my life. I wanted to leave here everything I have gained over the past 24 years. How was I able to survive in the idol world for nine years with a mind that was too concerned with what others thought? Why am I who I am? I would be happy if this book could serve as a resting place for people to live each day in this difficult world."
Kubo is 24 years old and hails from Miyagi Prefecture, having been born on July 14, 2001. She made her debut in September 2016 after passing the audition for Nogizaka46's third generation. She is a central member of the group, and from February 2022 she will be hosting the group's signature radio program, "Nogizaka46 All Night Nippon" (Nippon Broadcasting System, Wednesdays at 1 a.m.).
She is also active as an actress, appearing in the NHK Taiga drama "What Will Ieyasu Do?", which will be broadcast in 2023, as Oda Nobunaga's daughter, Gotoku. She also appeared in the NHK Asadora drama "Anpan" this year, as the singer Tamae Shiratori. She will graduate from Nogizaka46 on November 27th, after a concert to be held at Yokohama Arena (Kohoku Ward, Yokohama).
