Actor Seishiro Kato will appear in the third episode, "Police Officer B," of the popular detective drama "Aibou Season 24" (TV Asahi, Wednesdays at 9 p.m.), which will be broadcast on October 29th. Kato, who will be appearing in "Aibou" for the fourth time, commented before the broadcast.
Kato's first appearance in "AIBOU" was 12 years ago, in Season 11, Episode 18, "BIRTHDAY" (March 2013), where he played Washio Hayato, an elementary school student caught up in an incident. He then played Takada Hajime, an "unregistered child" struggling on the fringes of society, in Season 16, Episode 19, "Boy A" (March 2018), and appeared as Hajime, who has grown up to become a police officer, in Season 23's extended special premiere, "Police Officer A" (October 2024). This time, Hajime, who has finally achieved his dream of being transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division, appears before the Special Investigation Unit again.
Kato was born in 2001 and is currently 24 years old. Regarding "Aibou," which began airing in 2000, he commented, "To me, he's like a 'superstar' of the same age who has been active at the forefront for a long time."
"For me, who used to watch 'Aibo' with my grandmother in front of the TV from a young age, it was a dream and a goal that was so far away. Then, when I was 11, I got to appear in the show as Washio Hayato, and when I was 16, I came across this work in a different role, as Takada Hajime, and last year that role returned as a police officer, and now I get to investigate cases in the world of 'Aibo' as Detective Takada. I couldn't be happier," he said with joy.
Addressing "Aibō" fans, he said, "I've finally joined the world of Aibō!!... I know it's still a little early, and I apologize for that. But I'm ready to do it!", showing his enthusiasm for a regular appearance. "I have no doubt that this is just the first step!! I hope you'll enjoy seeing what kind of image "Boy A" will present as a detective, his delicate inner workings, and the sharp things he occasionally shows!"
