The 41st episode of the NHK Taiga drama " UNBOUND (Berabou) " (General TV, Sunday 8pm and others), starring actor Ryusei Yokohama , entitled "Utamaro's Large-Headed Beauty Painting," was broadcast on October 26th, and drew attention to a certain line spoken by voice actress Sumi Shimamoto, who plays Taka, a maid at Koshodo in Nihonbashi.
"UNBOUND (Berabou)" is the 64th taiga drama and depicts the life of Tsutaya Juzaburo(or "Tsutajyu" for short), who is said to have laid the foundations for Japan's media industry and pop culture. The script was written by Yoshiko Morishita, who is known for her work on the highly talked-about "Drama 10: Ooku," which aired on NHK two years ago.
In episode 41, Tsutaju visits the punished Suharaya (Kotaro Satomi), who tells him that he will retire and hand over the business to the next generation. Tsutaju then ponders with Utamaro (played by Shota Sometani) how to market "The Ten Body Physiognomy of Women." Meanwhile, something strange happens to Tsuyo (played by Saki Takaoka).
Tsuyo refuses to see a doctor. Tei (AI Hashimoto Ai) and Taka grab Tsuyo's arm and try to take him to the doctor. Taka then calls out to Tsuyo as if to persuade him, "It's not scary. It's not scary!" Fans immediately responded, as there was a scene in the animated film "Nausicaä of the Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind" in which Nausicaä, played by Shimamoto, utters the same words.
On social media, comments included, "Nausicaä...", "Wow, that voice is Nausicaä!!!", "I just saw Nausicaä", "Nausicaä appeared saying 'It's not scary, it's not scary' (wrong)", and "Nausicaä", as well as comments such as, "Making Nausicaä say 'It's not scary, it's not scary' lol", "If Sumi Shimamoto Sumi says 'It's not scary' then that's Nausicaä", and "Hey! They must have made Shimamoto (the voice actor of Nausicaä) say 'It's not scary, it's not scary!' on purpose, right?"
