Eiji Kotoge and Mizuki Nishimura of the comedy duo "Vikeingu" and talent Sakura Inoue appeared at an event for the film "Predator: Badlands" (released November 7th, directed by Dan Trachtenberg) held in Tokyo recently. Kotoge, who appeared with a Predator-inspired mohawk and dreadlocks, excited the audience by parodying his usual joke, saying, "Predator: Badlands is a place!!"
"Predator: Badlands" is the latest installment in the popular series, depicting the Predators, brutal aliens who hunt for honor. This film is the first in the series to feature a Predator as the main character, and tells the story of Deku, a young warrior who is banished from his proud fighting clan and ends up in the most dangerous "badlands" in the universe, where he and Tia, an android with only a torso, work together to survive. Deku is played by Dimitrius Schuster Koloamatangi, and Tia is played by Elle Fanning.
Inoue commented, "I'm curious to see how he will form a bond with Tia. I think there is a lot we humans can learn from that. I would like to learn how to form bonds." Nishimura added, "The fact that he is a half-baked predator is interesting. Even among (absolutely strong) predators, there are half-baked ones. Also, right next to me is a very intimidating comedy predator (Kotoge). Comedy predators are tough, saying things like, 'You were 0.1 seconds too late over there!'" he said, drawing laughter.
