The third episode of the TBS Sunday Theatre drama "The Royal Family" (Sundays at 9pm), starring Satoshi Tsumabuki, will be broadcast on October 26th.
In the previous episode, Kozo (Koichi Sato) is pressured by Yutaro (Kotaro Koizumi) to disband the horse racing division of Royal Human Company if he cannot win a race in the JRA this year, and he accepts. However, he faces opposition from trainer Tadokoro, and they part ways. Kurisu (Tsumabuki) is left searching for a new trainer.
Kurisu meets a talented horse trainer named Hironaka (Masanobu Ando), who agrees to look after her two horses, Royal Fight and Royal Izanya.
Hironaka completely reconsidered the strengths and weaknesses of the two horses. He devised a strategy to move Izanya, who had always run on dirt, to a maiden race on turf, and Fight, who had run on turf, to dirt. Hironaka's prediction was spot on, and Izanya won the maiden race in a spectacular fashion.
In the third episode, Kanako (Wakana Matsumoto) is worried about running a ranch with no clear future. Her father, Takeshi (Kiba Katsumi), insists on doing "front-door transactions" with horse owners directly, bypassing the auction, but for some reason, the owners always end up getting angry and breaking off the deal.
Kurisu attends the birthday party of Kozo's daughter, Yuriko (Nagisa Sekimizu Nagisa). There, Kyoko (Kuroki Hitomi) tells him about the Sanno family's connection with horses. The horse racing division is saved by Izanya, but then both Izanya and Fight are injured. Kozo and Kurisu begin searching for a new racehorse to achieve their dream of winning the Arima Kinen.
He bets on an auction at Kitaryo Farm, which produces many excellent racehorses, but his rival Shiina (Sawamura Kazuki) is also eyeing the same horse...
Based on the novel of the same name by Kazuma Hayami, Eiji Kurisu admired his father, a tax accountant, and tried to follow in his footsteps, but he experienced setbacks and lost hope. However, his life takes a major turn when he meets horse owner Kozo Sanno.
