It has been announced that "BLUE GALE XABUNGLE SIDE R," an experimental video based on the robot anime "Combat Mecha Xabungle," which aired from 1982 to 1983, will be released on November 13th at "TAMASHII NATION 2025," which will be held in Akihabara, Tokyo, and on the Sunrise YouTube channel. As with "BLUE GALE XABUNGLE SIDE L," which was released in May, Kamikaze Douga and Bandai Namco Filmworks have teamed up to produce the video, with young creators "reinterpreting it from a different perspective." This masterpiece will be revived in the Reiwa era.
The theme song will be a new song called "Ranburu" sung by the all-out idol unit "After School Climax Girls" from "The Idolmaster Shiny Colors." The song was written, composed, and arranged by the Combat Mecha Xabungle."
Maki Yamakoshi of Kamikaze Douga commented, "In order to create a sense of the breadth of Xabungle when combined with 'SIDE L,' we deliberately came up with an opposite design style, aiming to keep the audience engaged with the fun of the movements. Also, with the animation, rather than being straight and cool, we were particular about creating a sense of a charming, mischievous quality. We hope that this is a work that can be enjoyed visually without having to worry too much."
Takahashi Maki of Kamikaze Douga said, "This film was made with Xabungle's first-time viewers in mind. Looking back, it was very difficult to strike a balance between how to draw in people who are unfamiliar with Xabungle, and how to maintain the appeal of the original work. I believe that the original work's original appeal is largely due to the fact that it was a TV series that was carefully drawn over a long period of time, and at the beginning of the planning, I felt that it would be difficult to fully convey that within the length of 'SIDE R'. So, in this work, rather than focusing on complex settings and human drama, we have narrowed our focus to catchy elements such as the comical developments and movements, and the attractive robots and characters. We hope that people enjoy watching the energetic Xabungle."
