Disney's animated feature film "Tangled" (directed by Nathan Greno and Byron Howard, 2010) will be broadcast on Fuji TV's "Saturday Premium" slot (Saturdays at 9 PM) on October 25th. This is the 50th feature-length animated film that Disney has produced since "Snow White" was released in 1937, and is a modern adaptation of the Grimm fairy tale "Rapunzel," also known as "The Princess with Long Hair."
Deep in the forest, hidden from view, stands a tall tower. There lives Rapunzel (Shoko Nakagawa), a girl with shining golden, "magical" hair. She has been imprisoned in the tower ever since she was kidnapped as a baby by Gothel (Yuki Take), who was after her hair, which holds magical powers. Rapunzel has never left the tower in 18 years, and every year on her birthday, she feels a special emotion when she sees the many lights dancing in the night sky. She wishes this year to finally leave the tower and discover the true meaning of the lights.
One day, Flynn Rider (played by Hiroshi Hatanaka), a master thief, wanders into Rapunzel's tower. Flynn and the Stubbington brothers (played by Hajime Iijima) steal the crown from the castle, but then they fall out and, pursued by the guards, they flee into the tower. Rapunzel takes the crown from Flynn and asks him to take her out of the tower in exchange for the crown, and together they finally take their first steps into a new world...
