The new cast for the NHK Asadora drama "Kaze,Kaoru ," starring Ai Mikami and Juri Kosaka , which will air in the first half of 2026, has been announced on the official NHK drama website (@nhk_dramas), with seven new cast members announced: Mikako Tabe, Takashima Masahiro, Nita Ayano, Nakata Aonagisa, Inoue Himawari, Maruyama Rei, and Ken Naoko. This will be Nita, Maruyama, and Ken's first appearance in a Asadora.
Tabe plays Oyama Sutematsu, a noblewoman who was known as the "flower of Rokumeikan" and symbolized the era. She has a great influence on the lives of Rin (Mikami) and Naomi (Uesaka).
Takashima plays Oyama Iwao, the husband of Oyama Sutematsu, who was the Minister of the Army at the time and later became the first Minister of the Army.
Futada, Nakata, and Inoue will play the roles of waiters at Rokumeikan, Fusa Matsuyama, Shima Kawai, and Saho Kimura, respectively.
Maruyama plays Nakayama Matsu, Rin's next-door neighbor.
Ken plays Maji, a mysterious and elusive fortune teller.
Chief Producer Matsuzono Takehiro, who is in charge of production, said, "Rokumeikan can be said to be a symbol of the Westernization policy of the early Meiji period. The couple Oyama Iwao and Sutematsu, who are known as synonymous with the building, and the women who work at Rokumeikan, are also characters we have now announced: a mysterious fortune teller and a unique neighbor. At first glance, these characters seem unlikely to have any connections with the two main characters, but how will they meet and what kind of impact will they have on the pair? Filming is progressing smoothly. The team is working together to deliver a drama that viewers can empathize with, so although the broadcast is still a little ways off, please look forward to it."
"Kaze,Kaoru" is the 114th serial TV drama. Set in the Meiji era, it is a buddy drama featuring two trained nurses, Ozeki Chika and Suzuki Masa, as its two protagonists. The two graduated from the same nursing school, but struggle with how to interact with patients and doctors, and grow through clashes, eventually becoming the "strongest buddy." Migami plays the lead role of Ichinose Rin, while Uesaka plays Oya Naomi.
