A press conference was held in Tokyo on October 23rd to announce the lineup for "Kaanibal!!," a new anime time slot that will be aired on Kansai TV and Fuji TV at 11pm on Tuesdays, and Miyata Toshiya of the popular group Kis-My-Ft2 made an appearance. Miyata appeared as a supporting guest for the TV anime "Choujun! Chojo Senpai," which will be broadcast in the same time slot, and said, "The appeal of this work is that it's so playful. That's what's great about it."
"Cho-Jun! Chojo Senpai" is based on a manga by Numa Shun that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha). Set in the unusual lodging town of Kakimachi, it is a "psychic police comedy" featuring the ultimate buddy duo of psychic sergeant Chojo Jun and rookie police officer Ipponki Nao. Miyata commented, "Now that I'm an adult, I'm really happy to spend time laughing while reading comedy manga. 95% of "Cho-Jun! Chojo Senpai" is silly, but there are also some parts that will make you cry."
"Kaanibal!!" is a new nationwide anime slot that will be launched in January 2026, and the first to air will be the TV anime "Tune In to the Midnight Heart," based on the romantic comedy manga by Igarashi Masakuni that is currently serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha), which will begin airing on January 6, 2026.
In addition to "Choujun! Chojo Senpai" and "Mayonaka Tune In to the Midnight Heart in the Shell" based on the popular manga "Ghost in the Shell" by Masamune Shirow, and "Marriage Toxin," based on the manga by Banin and illustrated by Mizuki Yoda, which is currently being serialized on Shueisha's manga app "Tune In to the Midnight Heart+," will also be broadcast. The broadcast dates for the other three works will be announced in the future.
