The program "Legendary Concert THE ALFEE," which brings back a 1986 live performance by the three-member band THE ALFEE in a remastered version equivalent to 4K quality, will be broadcast on NHK BS from 7:30 pm on October 23rd.
THE ALFEE celebrated their 50th anniversary since their debut last year and have continued to make an impact not only on the music scene but also on the entertainment world in general for a long time.
On August 3, 1986, this band held a massive outdoor concert in the area that was then called "Tokyo Bay Reclaimed Land No. 13" (now the Odaiba district), attracting 92,500 people and being described at the time as "Japan's first solo concert for 100,000 people."
This performance made a huge impact on music fans at a time when large outdoor music festivals were not yet commonplace. The highlight of the show was the dramatic performance of the three members, who ran freely across the gigantic stage set, 120 meters wide and 75 meters high, symbolizing the scale of the live performance.
