The story is based on the novel of the same name by Kazuma Hayami. Eiji Kurisu (played by Tsumabuki) admired his father, who was a tax accountant, and tried to follow in his footsteps, but he experienced setbacks and lost hope. However, when he met horse owner Kozo Sanno (played by Koichi Sato), his life took a major turn...
If the horse racing division fails to win a race in the JRA by the end of the year, it will be abolished. However, trainer Hironaka (played by Masanobu Ando)'s strategy is successful, and Royal Isanya, owned by Kozo, wins a maiden race.
As Kurisu and Kozo rejoiced, the commentator announced, "This is a high payout." Taira (Kenjiro Tsuda), the ace horse racing reporter for Tohnichi Sports, who had come to cover the story, also became excited and exclaimed, "The odds were 111 to 1!"
Taira then joined Kurisu, Kozo, Hironaka and others at the after-party. Hironaka revealed that Izanya's ancestor, Mighty Platt, was a horse from his family's ranch, and commented, "Without Mighty Platt, I might not have become a trainer, and without Fight and Izanya, their bloodline might have been forgotten."
