It has been announced that a new theater showcasing stage content from Naoko Takeuchi's popular manga, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, called "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon -Shining Theater Shinagawa Tokyo-," will have its grand opening in April 2026 at Shinagawa Prince Hotel Club eX (Shinagawa Ward, Tokyo). The theater will take over from the theater restaurant "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon -SHINING MOON TOKYO-," which opened in Azabu-Juban, Tokyo in 2019, and will present a long-running show featuring the 10 Sailor Guardians.
In addition to performing a show centered around an original story, there will also be a greeting from the cast. Original drinks will be served. The show will be written and directed by Go Ueki, the main vocalist and dancer of the vocal dance group "PaniCrew," who is also active as a director, having worked on the New York performance of "Attack on Titan-the Musical-," and Kameda Shinjiro will be writing the script. The theater's space design will be handled by art director Igarashi LINDA Wataru, who worked on the interior design of "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon -SHINING MOON TOKYO-" and the "Sailor Moon store."
To date, numerous "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon" stage productions have been performed in Japan, including the musical "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon" series. In 2018, the idol group "Nogizaka46 " starred in the musical "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon," which has been performed three times, and in 2025, the performance show "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon The Super Live" was performed. After a two-month long run in London, the show embarked on a North American tour, visiting 21 cities including Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago, and New York, attracting over 50,000 people. A triumphant return performance in Japan was held in October, and a tour of three cities in China has also been scheduled for November and December.
