Actress Mai Shiraishi appeared at a press conference held at TV Asahi headquarters (Minato Ward, Tokyo) on October 17th for the drama series "Koi Suru Keigo 24ji Season 2" (TV Asahi, Fridays at 11:15pm *excluding some regions), which began airing that same evening. She stated her personal opinion that "the quality of small conversations is important" in long-distance relationships.
This is a sequel to the original drama written by screenwriter Kaneko Arisa, which aired in January last year. In the previous series, the rugged bodyguard Kitazawa Tatsunosuke (Hikaru Iwamoto) and lawyer Kishimura Rika (Shiraishi) fell in love and began a long-distance relationship, so at the press conference, the question was asked, "What would you do if you were in a long-distance relationship?"
Shiraishi answered "quality of conversation" on a flip chart. "Once something is decided, there's nothing you can do about it. Make sure to exchange "good morning" and "good night" every day to maintain close communication, and when you can't see each other, find something that makes you think, 'I want to share this.' (If you do that) I think a deep affection will have been born when you meet again," she said with a smile.
The drama is billed as a "thought-provoking action romantic comedy," with more action, romance, and mystery elements than the previous series. Shiraishi said, "I was pretty nervous when I got to the set, but many of the staff members from season 1 were there, so I was able to have fun playing Rika (again)!"
