It has been announced that voice actors Kokoro Omori and Tomori Kusunoki will appear in the TV anime " The You and I Are Polar Opposites, " based on the manga by Kocha Agasawa that was serialized on Shueisha's manga app "Shonen Jump+." Omori will play Nishi, who is in the class next to the main characters Suzuki and Tani, and Kusunoki will play Honda, who is in the same class as Nishi.
Omori, who plays Nishi, a quiet and reserved girl who actually laughs a lot, commented, "Nishi is a very shy character, but she is more talkative than anyone else. She often gets lost in thought and becomes negative, and I think many people can relate to that. I personally love the original work and have always wanted to play Nishi. I am happy to be involved in this work and will do my best to deliver it in the best possible way, so I hope you will support her!"
Kusunoki, who plays Honda, a girl with a dry personality, said, "She has a slightly dry personality when it comes to human relationships, but her word sense within her values is interesting, and it's a really fun character to think about what nuances I can put into her to make a scene more impactful. Like Hon-chan, I'd like to keep my lips together and hold back my grin as I watch the sparkling, dazzling atmosphere. Please look forward to the broadcast ◎."
The manga was serialized in "Shonen Jump+" from May 2022 to November 2024. It is a romantic comedy that depicts the love story between Suzuki, a lively girl who reads the atmosphere, and Tani, a quiet boy who can clearly express his opinions. The total number of copies of the comic, including the digital version, has exceeded 1.6 million.
The anime will be directed by Takakazu Nagatomo and produced by Lapin Track. Sayumi Suzushiro will be played by Sayumi Suzushiro and Tani by Shogo Sakata. It will air on the MBS/TBS Sunday 5pm anime slot starting in January 2026.
