The first episode of the drama series "Shumaku no Rondo" (Kantele/Fuji TV, Mondays at 10pm), starring Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, aired on October 13th. The character of Mikuriya Fumiko, the wife of the president of Mikuriya Holdings, played by Rumiko Koyanagi, became a hot topic.

The drama is a human drama about Torikai Itsuki (Kusanagi), an estate organizer who is raising his young son alone, and who, together with his colleagues at the estate organizer company, supports families with various circumstances.
Fumiko is the mother of Toshihito (played by Kanato Tsukishiro Kaname) and Ayame (played by Kanato Tsukishiro). She is a strong character, with Ayame describing her as "a genius at using words to hurt people."
It's the day of the party celebrating the publication of Toshito's wife, picture book author Makoto (Nakamura). Fumiko attends the party with her husband Gotaro (Murakami Hiroaki) and Toshito. She watches Makoto greet the guests with a smile, but after the party is over, her attitude changes completely. While helping Toshito get changed, she sarcastically remarks, "Actually, this kind of thing is what a wife does," and then raises her eyebrows and says, "You just stay still. It's less hassle that way."
"After all, my wife is a writer. Even if she writes picture books for other people...sigh. I wonder when I'll be able to read them to my grandchildren," Fumiko sighed. She then complained to Makoto about not being blessed with children for the past 10 years, and spat out, "It's about time you started fertility treatment!"
