The 13th episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Bakebake " (Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM and other times), in which Akari Takaishi plays the heroine, was broadcast on October 15th, and viewers were captivated by the interaction between Toki (Takaishi) and Den Ushimizu(Shinichi Tsutsumi).
In episode 13, Den falls ill. Toki volunteers to nurse him back to repay the kindness of Den for always looking after him.
On the morning of Toki's first day of nursing, Tae (Keiko Kitagawa) savors the clam soup that Toki has prepared for her. As Den lies in bed, Toki places a wet towel on his forehead. When Den wakes up, he says optimistically, "I need to get better quickly and return to the factory, so that I can repay the kindness of everyone, including Toki and Matsuno."
Toki said, "My father also said that he wanted his nemesis to stay healthy," to which Den replied, "Nemesis?" Toki replied, "I think it's because I often joke, 'I wish you were my father,'" and Den laughed with a complicated expression.
After finishing work at the factory, Toki visits Den again to look after him, and tells him the ghost story "The Futon in Tottori" that Ginjiro (Kanichiro) had told him. Den says, "Life is a sad place. Toki must have a lot to be sad about, too. But she was able to find a husband with whom she can share ghost stories." "I, too, have my own problems with the factory, my house, and this illness... Right now I'm just sad."
He continued, "But if it hadn't turned out like this, I would have done this with Toki..." but stopped himself, saying, "After all, it's all about being alive." Toki told Den, "Uncle, get well soon and stay well."
Subsequent developments reveal that Toki is Den and Tae's child. Comments on social media include, "It's so heartbreaking," "Was this kind of everyday life really possible...?", "As a father, he must be so happy that she grew up to be such a good daughter," "I love the conversation between Toki and Den. It's filled with the feelings of a father who is glad that his daughter has grown up to be such a good person," "Both Tae and Den are touched by the food their daughters made for them...and the way their daughters nursed them..." and "You can see that Den's feelings are wavering. He was nursed by his own daughter. It was so moving to hear him say, 'I wish you were my father,'"
