The fifth season of the TV Asahi drama " Emergency Interrogation Room ," starring actress Yuki Amami , will air on October 16th at 9:00 PM. The first episode will be extended by six minutes. Ahead of the broadcast, the first episode's guests , Koji Yamamoto and Wakamura Mayumi, have made comments.
Yamamoto, who plays Kuramochi, a popular wheelchair-bound Caster who becomes the suspect, recalled the filming, saying, "I played the role of a wheelchair user for a long time in 'Under One Roof' (Fuji TV, 1993, 1997), so I'm quite comfortable using a wheelchair. But I'm still human. I react to what the other person says and my legs move. It was surprisingly difficult to control those movements. I approached the filming remembering the time for 'Under One Roof', but it was still difficult to find a way to express the complex web of emotions while partially disabled."
The amount of lines was enormous, and she said with a smile, "I was given an important role that required incredible concentration, so it was a very intense filming period. What was particularly memorable was the interrogation room scene, which took three days to film. Unlike everyday conversations, each person's thoughts and true feelings intertwine in a complex way, so it was a challenge to find the right balance to express that... As I experienced the difficulty of this on set, I also made new discoveries that went beyond the script."
Wakamura, who plays Kuramochi's separated wife, Ritsuko, commented, "Inoue Yumiko's scripts are always fun and adventurous, but this time the emotions involved were more complex than any other role she has written for me so far, so it was difficult. In playing Ritsuko, I left the details of my clothing, hairstyle and psychological flow up to Director Tsunehiro (Jota), who knows ' Emergency Interrogation Room' inside and out, and he brought them out."
Regarding the set led by troupe leader Amami, he said, "There is constant laughter and it is a friendly atmosphere. But just before the show starts, things change completely and the atmosphere becomes tense. One day on location, I witnessed Hayami (Mokomichi) and Suzuki (Kosuke) run over to "Boss Amami" as soon as they spotted him and greet him with a 90-degree bow! Laughter erupted immediately afterwards, and it was a wonderful set with a good balance of pace at all times. I think the good teamwork comes across on screen once again. I was a big fan of ' Emergency Interrogation Room' so I was happy to be able to experience Amami's overwhelming leadership and compassion on the set."
"Emergency Interrogation Room" is a popular series in which the Metropolitan Police Department's First Investigative Division's "Emergency Case Response Investigation Team (commonly known as Kintori)," led by Amami-san's self-made interrogator Yukiko Makabe, engage in a psychological battle of back and forth with violent criminals. The series began in 2014 and will conclude with the theatrical version "Emergency Interrogation Room THE FINAL," which will be released on December 26th of this year.
In the first episode, a series of murders occurs targeting key figures involved in a redevelopment project that is a major government priority. Popular Caster Kuramochi, who provokes the unknown culprit on his program, is also attacked, and Kuramochi's real-life father, Isogai Shingo (Ryu Raita), is also murdered. The Metropolitan Police Department decides to temporarily activate the "Emergency Incident Response Investigation Team," which was once disbanded. Yukiko and the other Kintori members reunite and begin their investigation. Guest appearances include Yamamoto, Wakamura, and Tokyo 03's Akihiro Kakuta and Minemura Rie.
