Makoto attended the publication party for her first picture book accompanied by her husband, Toshihito (Jun Kaname), the heir to the large company Mikuriya Holdings. Toshihito said, "I intend to continue to fully support my wife's writing career. She's our genius," and shook Makoto's hand in front of the guests. At first glance, the two appeared to be a happy couple, but Makoto's heart was worn down by a loveless marriage.
