The film will be released in two parts in theaters ahead of its television broadcast starting in January 2026. The first part will be released on October 10th, and the second part on October 31st.
"Golden Kamuy" is a manga that was serialized in "Weekly Young Jump" (Shueisha) from 2014 to 2022. It depicts the story of "Immortal Sugimoto," a former hero of the Russo-Japanese War, who discovers clues to buried treasure hidden by a death row inmate in Hokkaido and embarks on an adventure with an Ainu girl.
The first season of the TV anime aired from April to June 2018, the second from October to December of the same year, and the third from October to December 2020. The fourth season began airing in October 2022, was on hiatus from November, and resumed in April 2023, running until June of the same year.
