It has been announced that the animated feature film " A NEW DAWN ," which marks the feature-length animated directorial debut of Yoshitoshi Shinomiya, a Japanese painter who has worked on anime with directors such as Makoto Shinkai and Sunao Katabuchi, will be released on March 6, 2026. A new Teaser trailer has been released, showing the protagonist, Keitaro Obito, who is passionate about the mythical firework "Shuhari," working at the Obito Fireworks Factory, as well as Keitaro's childhood friend, Kaoru Shikimori, who has left her hometown and is struggling with her future.
The film is a Japan-France co-production with French studio Miyu Productions. Set at Obito Fireworks, a 330-year-old fireworks factory facing eviction, the film follows a group of young people as they spend two days exploring the mystical fireworks known as "Shuhari."
Actors Riku Hagiwara and Kotone Furukawa will co-star as Keitaro and Kaoru, respectively. Miyu Irino and Takashi Okabe will also appear as voice actors.
