The world premiere of "Tron: Ares," the latest installment in the American film "Tron" series in 15 years (directed by Joachim Rønning, to be released simultaneously in Japan and the US on October 10th), was held in Los Angeles on October 6th (local time). Starring Jared Leto, Jeff Bridges and other all-star cast members, director Rønning, and members of Nine Inch Nails (NIN), who composed the music, also made an appearance to celebrate the completion of the film.
Director Ronning commented, "It took three years to complete this film. We shot in Vancouver, six days a week, until late at night, and I was completely exhausted... But standing here at the premiere makes all of that hard work disappear. I'm so happy and grateful to be here with the cast and the friends who helped create this film," and urged viewers to "please see it in the theater. This is a film you can 'feel with your body.' I hope you'll experience the music of Nine Inch Nails and the spectacular visual effects on the big screen."
Leto, the lead actor, expressed his joy at working with Jeff, saying, "It's really great to be able to be with him like this." He praised him, saying, "Jeff is someone you can't help but love. He's just how you imagine him to be. Kind, generous, patient, fun, and humorous. It's amazing, isn't it?" He added, "They often say you shouldn't meet the people you admire, but I'm really glad I met him. It was a wonderful experience to be able to work with him. I hope we can work together more."
"Tron: Ares" is the latest installment of the American film "Tron" (1982), known as the world's first feature-length film to fully utilize CG (computer graphics). Ares (Jared Leto), the strongest humanoid AI soldier in the real world, is developed. He is the ultimate soldier, endowed with overwhelming strength and superior intelligence, but he can only "survive" in the real world for 29 minutes. In their quest for "eternity," the AI soldiers go out of control, and the digital world begins to encroach on the real world. Then, something strange happens to Ares, who learns about "humans" in the real world. Will Ares really become the savior of humanity? This is the story.
