The "Tron: Ares Immersive Experience" event for the latest installment in the American "Tron" film series, "Tron: Ares" (directed by Joachim Rønning), will be held at ZeroBase Shibuya (Shibuya Ward, Tokyo) from October 7th. Visitors can test ride the motorcycle-style light cycle that appears in the film and experience the VR "Tron: Ares in VR Shibuya," where "AI encroaches from the digital world into the real world." The event will run until the 13th.
When you test ride a LightCycle, the Shibuya cityscape appears before your eyes, and the city is invaded by the digital world. You can enjoy the experience of riding through an invaded Shibuya. You can also receive a video of the experience.
In "Tron: Ares in VR Shibuya," you can walk around Shibuya, which has been invaded by the digital world. You can also play the disc battles familiar from the "Tron" series, making you feel as if you have entered the world of the movie. VR will be available to the public on the Metaverse until the 31st.
The facility also features a photo spot inspired by the Tron Gate. The gate frame is illuminated with LED lights, and the gate space is filled with laser effects to represent the encroachment of the digital world.
The first film, "Tron," released in 1982, is a masterpiece that left its mark in film history as a work that introduced full-scale CGI. The second film, "Tron: Legacy," released in 2010, also generated a lot of buzz. In "Tron: Ares," an advanced AI materializes in the real world. Dillinger Corporation, familiar from the "Tron" series, materializes the AI soldier Ares (Jared Leto) in the real world, but he becomes uncontrollable and the world falls into chaos. The film will be released simultaneously in Japan and the US on October 10th.
