The character relationships for the new drama "When I Was Young, There Was a God," which will start airing on Fuji TV's "Thursday Theatre" (Thursdays at 10 p.m.) slot on October Getsuku, have been released.
The drama is a sitcom starring Yukiya Kitamura and co-starring Yukie Nakama, and is the latest work by Yoshikazu Okada, known for the "Second to Last Love" series. The theme song is a new song written by singer-songwriter Yumi Matsutoya, "Ten Made Todoke."
19 years ago, Ogura Wataru (Kitamura) and his wife Ann (Nakama) made a promise to divorce when their child turned 20, due to a certain incident. Wataru has completely forgotten those words and has lived life at his own pace, while his wife Ann has lived with those words as her emotional support. The story depicts how the two, who have completely different feelings, gradually begin to waver in their everyday lives.
Ono Karin plays Karin Ono Nao, who works at a super bathhouse and lives on the second floor of the three-story retro apartment building "Tasogare States" where Wataru and Ann live, while Ishii Anna plays Takamura Shiho, Nao's partner who also lives on the second floor. Kotaki Anna Ishii from "WEST." plays Jun, the eldest son of the Ogura family, who is a hard-working firefighter, and Kondo Hana plays Jun and his sister Yuzu, who is obsessed with making independent films.
In addition, Masao Kusakari plays Nagashima Shinichi, a former record company employee who lives on the first floor and is now fully retired and actively involved in neighborhood association activities, and Sawako Agawa plays Satoko, Shinichi's wife, who married someone from work.
