The first episode of the NHK Asadora drama series "Bakebake " starring Akari Takaishi , which will air in the second half of fiscal 2025, aired on September 29th, and it was revealed that the average viewership (according to Video Research, Kanto region, same below) was 16.0% for households and 8.7% for individuals. This surpassed the 15.4% (households) and 8.6% (individuals) of the first episode of the previous Asadora, "Anpan" (first half of fiscal 2025).
"Bakebake" is the 113th morning Asadora. Based on the life of Yakumo Koizumi(Lafcadio Hearn) and his wife Setsu, the story follows the heroine, who loves ghost stories, as she lives her ordinary, everyday life with her foreign husband. The story is not based on an original novel, but is an original work by screenwriter Mitsuhiko Fujiki, who has worked on NHK's drama "Asagaya Sisters' Relaxed Life" and WOWOW's "Shooting Break Series."
The first episode is set in the early Meiji period. Elementary school student Toki (Miharu Fukuchi) lives a poor life with her father, Tsukasanosuke(Takashi Okabe), mother, Fumi (Chizuru Ikewaki), and grandfather, Kan'emon (Fumiyo Kohinata), resenting the world around them. Tsukasanosuke makes a big decision to give Toki a good life...
