The final episode of the TV drama series "Anpan," which aired its final episode on September 26th, was shown at the Kochi Prefectural Cultural Hall (Kochi City, Kochi Prefecture) on the same day. Executive Director Tsuyoshi Yanagawa, who was in charge of directing, attended the event and shared behind-the-scenes stories from the filming of the final episode.
Yanagawa commented, "I was able to watch the final episode while feeling the enthusiasm of the people of Kochi. I entrusted all kinds of imagination to the blue sky at the end of the final episode. When I watched it in Kochi, it felt like Anpanman was flying in the Kochi sky."
In the final episode, the highlight was a two-person play between Taka (played by Takumi Kitamura) and Nobu (played by Mio Imada) that lasted over eight minutes. Yanagawa revealed, "The scene where Nobu and Taka talk for over eight minutes was shot in one take."
"I didn't want to harden my acting, so I didn't rehearse, but when I spoke to Mio Imada and Takumi Kitamura, they both said that rehearsals were fine. A one-shot performance would create more tension, and they would also be able to reflect on their experiences living as Nobutaka for a year, so I decided to shoot it this way."
Nanako Matsushima, who plays Takashi's mother Tomiko, and Miho Nakazono, who wrote the script, also attended the "Final Episode Viewing Party." Approximately 1,300 people attended the event.
