NON appears at the preview screening of "You are there, beyond the top"

On September 24th, actor and artist Non attended the preview screening of the film "You are there, beyond the top" (released October 31st, directed by Junji Sakamoto), starring Sayuri Yoshinaga, held in Tokyo. He shared an episode in which he was touched by a "surprise" from Yoshinaga.

The film is based on the true story of Junko Tabei, the first woman to reach the summit of Mount Everest. After achieving this glorious feat, she was given a prognosis for her life in her later years, but she continued to challenge the summit with a cheerful smile, drawing in her family, friends, and those around her.

Non played the young version of Yoshinaga's protagonist, Tabe Junko. She said she tried to portray the character while trying to capture the image of Tabei and Yoshinaga, revealing, "I tried to portray the attractiveness of Yoshinaga's eyes, even if just for a moment."

On the day of the wrap-up, Non was told by the producer, "Yoshinaga-san contacted me to say she would be there, but it's in a complicated location so it would be difficult for her to come, so I just sent her my kind words."

However, after filming was over, Yoshinaga apparently showed up alone, and Non said with shining eyes, "I was really happy." She recalled, "Everyone on set became so excited, and I felt rewarded. I was so moved, how cool he was. He gave me a hug and said, 'Thank you for your hard work,' and gave me some chocolate, which was especially delicious and made me really happy."

Yoshinaga explained the situation at the time, saying, "I'd wanted to go for a long time, but I had to do something in Tokyo and couldn't go. When I heard that it was going to snow at the last minute and that it would be difficult, I thought I'd do whatever it took, so I hopped on the Shinkansen by myself and went there." She added, "Seeing everyone there made my heart warm."

Also appearing at the press conference were Koichi Sato, Yuki Amami, Fumino Kimura, Ryuya Wakaba, Kudo Asuka, Mizuki Kayashima, and director Sakamoto Junji.
