The character introduction map for the NHK Asadora drama "Bakebake " (NHK General TV, Monday to Saturday 8:00 AM and other times), starring Akari Takaishi , has been released on the drama's official website. The three-page map features 29 people and two animals, including the main character Toki Matsuno(Takaishi) and her husband, English teacher Lefkada Haven (Tommy Bastow).
"Bakebake" is the 113th morning Asadora. It tells the story of a married couple, with a heroine who loves ghost stories and who lives an ordinary, everyday life with her foreign husband. Toki and Heaven are based on Koizumi Setsu, the daughter of a fallen samurai from Matsue, and Yakumo Koizumi(Lafcadio Hearn). The drama will be boldly reconstructed, with some of the names of characters and organizations changed to create a fictional portrayal.
Among the 29 people featured in the character introduction, the main faces include Toki and Heaven, as mentioned above, their English teacher, Nishikori Yuichi (Ryo Yoshizawa), Toki's father, Tsukasanosuke Matsuno(Takashi Okabe Chizuru Ikewaki), and the Matsuno family consisting of grandfather, Kanemon Matsuno(Fumiyo Kohinata). Also not to be missed are Toki's relatives, Ushimizu Fu (Shinichi Tsutsumi) and Ushimizu Tae (Keiko Kitagawa).
Other characters include Toki's arranged marriage partners Ginjiro Yamane(Kanichiro) and Nakamura Morimichi (Sakai Taisei), Toki's childhood friend Sawa Nozu(Wan Marui), and the prostitute Nami (Honami Sato). It will be interesting to see how Shimane Prefecture Governor Eto Yasumune (Sano Shiro), Eto's daughter Eto Rio (Kana Kita), and Heaven's former fellow reporter Eliza Belsland (Charlotte Kate Fox) will all become involved in the story.
On the other hand, the two animals refer to the snake and frog (Asagaya Sisters). What does the annotation for the snake (Eri Watanabe) and the frog (Miho Kimura) that says "Watching over Toki and Heaven" mean?
The drama will start on September 29th.
