The 36th episode of the NHK Taiga drama " UNBOUND (Berabou) " (General TV, Sunday 8pm and others), starring actor Ryusei Yokohama , entitled "The Parrot's Kick is a Duck," was broadcast on September 21st, delighting viewers with the reappearance of Matsunoi, played by Kubota Sayu.
" UNBOUND (Berabou)" is the 64th taiga drama and depicts the life of Tsutaya Juzaburo(or "Tsutajyu" for short), who is said to have laid the foundations for Japan's media industry and pop culture. The script was written by Yoshiko Morishita, who is known for her work on the highly talked-about "Drama 10: Ooku," which aired on NHK two years ago.
At the 36th event, Tsutaya's new works "Oumugaeshi Bunbu no Futamichi" and "Tenkaichimenkagami no Umebachi" sold like hotcakes.
Sadanobu (Inoue Yuki) is furious at Tsutaju's (Yokohama) book and orders it out of print. Kisanji (Omi Toshinori) decides to give up writing, and Harumachi (Okayama Amane) is summoned. Then, Tsutaju learns from a letter from Nanpo (Kenta Kiritani) that Tosaku (Kimura Ryo) is ill, and visits him with Suharaya (Kotaro Satomi) and Nanpo... and so on.
In the same episode, a big farewell party for Kisanji, who has decided to give up her calling, is held in Yoshiwara, and Matsunoi turns up. When Kisanji sees Matsunoi, he approaches her with a joyful "oiran!", but Ine (Mizuno Miki) and Fuji (Iijima Naoko) stop him. Matsunoi says that she is no longer a courtesan, and that after her apprenticeship ends, she has joined her calligraphy master and become a female calligraphy master herself. She greets him with a smile, saying, "I'm at Ochiyo."
On social media, people were as excited as Kisanji to hear that Matsunoi, now known as "Ochiyo," was still alive and well. They commented with comments such as, "Matsunoi-san! As expected! So cool!", "Oiran Matsunoi is doing well," "Matsunoi-chan is Ochiyo-san," and "Matsunoi is so lovely!!!!", as well as, "Oh, so her term of service has ended. That's great," "I'm glad that Oiran Matsunoi's term of service has ended safely. I hope she's happy!" and "Matsui-san has safely completed her term of service and is living a peaceful life. That's great."
