63-year-old singer Ono Lisa will appear on Kuroyanagi Tetsuko's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), which will be broadcast at 1:00 p.m. on September 18th.
When he made his debut 36 years ago, he attracted attention as the first Japanese singer to sing full-fledged bossa nova. He was born in Brazil, where his father, who loved music, emigrated to the country. His father ran a live music venue there and was also friends with composer Hachidai Nakamura and singer Kyu Sakamoto.
After returning to Japan, he began singing Brazilian songs at the age of 15 in a store his father opened. Initially, he focused on singing in Portuguese, but recently he has begun to take on the challenge of singing Japanese songs as well. He will perform a classic song with lyrics by Rokusuke Nagai and music by Hachidai Nakamura in the studio.
