Kamomentaru's Iwasaki Udai makes his first appearance in the Asadora " Bakebake "

It was announced on September 11th that Iwasaki Udai of the comedy duo "Kamomentaru" will be appearing in the NHK morning drama " Bakebake ," starring Akari Takaishi , which will begin airing on September 29th in the second half of fiscal year 2025. This will be Iwasaki's first appearance in a Asadora. He will play Kajitani Goro, a self-proclaimed and talented reporter for the Matsue Shimpo newspaper.

Goro Kajitani is a self-proclaimed, highly skilled reporter for the Matsue Shimpo newspaper. He follows Heaven (Tommy Bastow) as she visits Japan. He's a good reporter, and can turn even the smallest of stories into big news.

"Bakebake " tells the story of a couple who, together with her foreign husband, love ghost stories and shed light on the "nameless people" who had been forgotten in Meiji-era Japan as it became increasingly Westernized, and who acted as spokespeople for them. Takaishi, who stars in the film, plays the heroine, Toki Matsuno , the daughter of a fallen samurai from Yakumo Koizumi, modeled after Lafcadio Hearn 's wife, Setsu. The script is written by Fujiki Mitsuhiko, who has worked on NHK's "Asagaya Sisters' Laid-Back Life" and WOWOW's "Shooting Break Series," among others.

I was happy just to be able to appear in a Asadora, but I also had quite a lot of scenes, so I felt that all the hard work I'd done in life up until then had been worth it. My character, Kajitani, is a newspaper reporter, and apparently newspaper reporters back then were much rougher than they are now, so I'm having fun acting while imagining the energy of that time.

It's a story with a lot of comedy elements, so I hope I can be of some help. Everyone around me is so funny, so filming is always exciting. Oh! I'm also working hard on the Izumo dialect, so I hope you'll pay attention to it.
