Sadao Abe at a press conference just before the final episode of the drama "Shiawase na Kekkon"

Actor Sadao Abe attended a press conference held at the TV Asahi headquarters (Minato-ku, Tokyo) on September 11th, along with heroine Takako Matsu and scriptwriter Shizuka Oishi , for the ninth and final episode of the drama " Shiawase na Kekkon " (Thursdays 9pm), in which he stars and which will be broadcast that evening.

The total number of catch-up stream views for the first eight episodes has surpassed 21 million (according to TVer DATA MARKETING), making it the most of any drama series this season. Abe, who has received a great response, shared an episode with the "Kana Sisters," saying with a smile, "I had the opportunity to meet Mika Kano the other day, and Kyoko hasn't been into Japanese dramas lately, but she seems to be into this one, which made me happy."

Matsu also said with a smile, "When I met someone in the elevator in my apartment building who I don't usually see, they quietly said to me, 'I'm watching you,' and that made me happiest. It made me realize that this is what I'm working hard for."

Regarding his feelings about the final episode, Oishi commented, "In every drama, there are meetings and farewells, but being able to work with the duo of Abe and Matsu is an unforgettable experience, as it's rare to find such great actors together." Abe expressed his delight, saying, "Will this be shown on the evening news? I'm so happy."

When asked to reveal the highlights of the final episode without giving away any spoilers, Abe summed it up in one word: "So that's how it ends (laughs)!"

The drama is an original work by Oishi, and tells the story of bachelor Harada Kotaro (Abe) who is attracted to and marries the mysterious high school art teacher Suzuki Nerula (Matsu), only to find out that Nerula is a suspect in the death of his ex-fiancé, Nuse Yuto ( Reo Tamaoki). While it is a family drama, it is billed as a "marriage suspense" that questions the love between husband and wife.
