Nippon Television's quiz show, "The 45th National High School Quiz Championship," will be broadcast from 8:00 PM on September Getsuku. 42 schools that made it through the preliminary rounds will compete for the top spot out of 5,989 schools.
The event kicks off at the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. In addition to multiple-choice quizzes while running around the famous large roofed ring, there will also be the "Muddy True or False Quiz," a high school quiz classic, at Odawara Castle, and a "One-on-One Speed-Blow Quiz" in a sunflower field in Hokkaido. Amidst a succession of unexpected twists and turns, the winning teams will head to Okinawa for the finals.
The "general selection quota," established last year, saw the highest number of applications ever, expanding the quota from the original three schools by two, with five schools advancing to the national tournament. Four schools making their first appearance are Toshimaoka Girls' Academy (Tokyo), Asano High School (Kanagawa Prefecture), Kisarazu High School (Chiba Prefecture), and Okayama Daianji Secondary School (Okayama Prefecture).
The show will be hosted by the popular group SixTONES, the comedy duo Chocolate Planet, and Shiori Sato. Saki Aibu and Shinichi Hatori will also appear as studio guests.
