To commemorate the September 19th release of the animated film " Chainsaw Man , " based on Tatsuki Fujimoto 's popular manga, Reze and Makima, key characters from the series, will grace the cover of the October special issue of men's fashion magazine "MEN'S NON-NO" ( Men's Non-no ), due to go on sale on September Getsuku . The cover is a newly drawn illustration, placing the two characters one above the other in contrast to each other, with a monochrome base and only the hair and eyes, which are symbolic of each character, colored in. In reference to the issue's special feature "SUMMER END, GIRLFRIEND. <The end of summer and Men's Non-no models>," the cover is accompanied by the tagline "WORLD END, GIRLFRIEND."
A special feature titled "New Analysis of Chainsaw Man" will be published, featuring interviews with Kikunosuke Toya, who plays the main character Denji in the anime, Kusunoki Tomori, who plays Makima, Sakata Shogo, who plays Hayakawa Aki, and Reina Ueda, who plays Reze. The magazine will also include a special double-sided pinup featuring the cover illustration, as well as an original illustration sticker. The special double-sided pinup will only be included as an attachment in the special edition.
The regular edition features actor Ouji Suzuka on the cover.
"Chainsaw Man" is a dark hero action story about a boy named Denji who is possessed by a demon and works as a devil hunter. Part 1 was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from December 2018 to December 2020. Part 2 has been serialized on Shueisha's manga app "Shonen Jump+" since July 2022.
The "Reze" arc will tell the story of Reze and the main character, Denji, who also appeared at the end of the TV anime that aired from October to December 2022, and became a hot topic. While Denji is excited about a date with his crush, Makima, he takes shelter from the rain and meets Reze, a young girl who works at a cafe. The story is directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara, who served as the action director for the TV anime, and produced by MAPPA. Kenshi Yonezu will perform the theme song "IRIS OUT," and Yonezu and Hikaru Utada will perform the ending theme "JANE DOE," which has also been much talked about.
