It has been announced that the animated film " 100 Meters ", based on the manga by Uoto , who is known for " Orb: On the Movements of the Earth (Chi: Chikyu no Undo ni Tsuite), " which was also adapted into a TV anime, will collaborate with the "Tokyo 2025 IAAF World Championships," which will be held from September 13th to 21st. Two special videos, "Brand Message Edition" and "Theater Manners Edition," have been released on YouTube. The collaboration was decided because " 100 Meters" is based on the 100-meter dash in athletics.
The "Brand Message" version features the caption "We deliver. A long, long challenge. A one-off battle. Unpredictable surprises. The joy of the world coming together. Dreams coming true. All of this will turn into courage for people. We believe in the passion of sports," along with images of the world's top athletes and characters such as Togashi, the genius sprinter from "100 Meters", running dynamically through the stadium. In the "Theater Manners" version, Togashi explains theater manners, saying, "There are simple rules in this world."
The two movies will be screened at 28 theaters in the Kanto region from August 29th. The "Brand Message" version will also be aired on Orange Road Vision in Ikebukuro, Tokyo from September 1st to 14th.
TBS will broadcast the Tokyo 2025 World Athletics Championships live.
"100 Meters" is Uoto's debut serialized work, and was serialized on Kodansha's web manga app "Magazine Pocket (Magapoke)" from 2018 to 2019. It depicts the madness and passion of those in the world of track and field who are captivated by the brilliance of the 100m (meter) race, which lasts less than 10 seconds. The animated film will feature actor Tori Matsuzaka as Togashi and Shota Sometani as Komiya. It will be released on September 19th, and will also be released in North America in October.
