The 109th episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Anpan " (General TV, Monday to Saturday 8:00 AM and others), starring Mio Imada , was broadcast on August 28th, and viewers' attention was drawn to Ranko ( Takumi Kitamura), who hit it off with Nakazato Kaho (Yuzuna Nagase), a sharp-tongued girl who sent a fan letter to Takashi (Yuumi Kawai).
In episode 109, one day, Kaho, a fourth-grader who sent a fan letter to Takashi (Takumi Kitamura), comes to the Yanai household with her grandfather, Sunao (Asano Kazuyuki). Nobu (Imada) and Takashi greet her with smiles, but Kaho doesn't smile at all and rambles on about how the house is shabby, how she wants to drink cider, and how they must be broke because they're serving Anpan to guests, leaving them embarrassed.
When Taka asked her what she liked about the poetry collection "Aisuru Uta," Kaho replied, "Until now, I thought poetry was difficult, but I was happy to think that even I could write something like this." Furthermore, Kaho asked Taka for an autograph and made a series of rude remarks, such as "Draw me your masterpiece," and "Oh, so... you don't have one."
Kaho goes to the bathroom and on her way out she bumps into Ranko. Nobu introduces Kaho to Ranko and whispers that she's come all the way here, but if things continue like this she'll be disappointed and send her home. Kaho replies, "I didn't come here expecting anything special, so don't worry about it," to which Ranko laughs, "Oh... you're right." Nobu says, "Maybe Ranko won't win," and leaves Kaho in Ranko's care as he goes off to buy some cider.
Ranko and Kaho hit it off when they talked about movies. They talked about "My Fair Lady" and "Roman Holiday" while drinking the cider that Nobu had bought. When Kaho said about Joe, the newspaper reporter in "Roman Holiday," "That guy is tall and looks a bit like my father," Ranko replied, "Wow, your father is handsome, isn't he?"
Meanwhile, the Sunaman tells Nobu and Taku that Kaho lost her beloved father not long ago, and that she had been crying constantly, but that reading "Beloved Songs" has gradually helped her regain her strength. He says that this is the first time Kaho has said she wants to go outside since her father passed away.
When Nobu, Taka, and Sunao left the house, Ranko confessed, "Kaho and I like the same poems," and the two of them recited Taka's poem, "Sadness in the Palm of Your Hand," holding hands and laughing.
On social media, people were saying things like, "She can tame this girl... Ranko is amazing," "I think it was great that they paired the sharp-tongued Kaho with Ranko," "It's amazing how Ranko can talk to Kaho without treating her like a child," "I wonder if Kaho opened up to her because she sees Ranko as a 'cool older sister'," "It looks like she'll be corresponding with Ranko more than Takashi in the future," and "Meeting Kaho will likely be a turning point for Ranko as well."
