This was revealed in a preview video that aired after the sixth episode that day. In the "Chihayafuru" film series, Arata played Ayase Chihaya's (Suzu Hirose) childhood friend, Wataya Arata, but in this drama he appears as a "master." Arata commented, "When I heard about the role, I couldn't believe it, and I was genuinely delighted. On the 13th, the sixth episode of the TV Asahi drama series "The Great Chase: Metropolitan Police Department SSBC Violent Crimes Unit" (Wednesdays 9 PM) aired, and the cast of the currently airing Tuesday 9 PM drama "The Kidnapping Day" appeared, creating a buzz. The two characters featured in "The Kidnapping Day," played by Takumi Saito and child actress Yuno Nagao, respectively. In a scene where the SSBC Violent Crimes Division sifted through security camera footage to search for traces of the perpetrator, the two were spotted blending into the footage in a parking lot. This collaboration was first suggested backstage at a joint press conference (held on June 23rd) featuring all the cast members of TV Asahi's July dramas, when Saito suggested, "We, the fugitives, should also be in the 'Great Chase'!", and was realized in the sixth episode, which depicts a kidnapping case.
