It has been announced that a new one-shot story of Osamu Akimoto's popular manga "Kochikame" will be published in the 38th issue of "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), which will be released on August 18th. The 20-page story will appear in center color. The issue will come with a special collaboration sticker between "Weekly Shonen Jump" and "Pokemon."
"Kochikame" is a comedy manga set in downtown Tokyo and depicts the chaos caused by Ryotsu Kankichi, a police officer with extraordinary physical strength and a warm-hearted personality. It began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1976 and ran for about 40 years until 2016.
The manga has been published in 201 volumes, with a total circulation of over 150 million copies. It has also been adapted into an anime, live-action film, stage play, and video game.
